If you do choose wrought iron, think of painting it in bright colors like turquoise or yellow, just to add interest to the patio area. For a rustic look, go with wooden picnic tables and chairs. For something really dramatic, paint the wooden tables red, white and green, the colors of the Mexican flag.
A multi-tiered water fountain would be a great focal point for your outdoor patio. Enhance the space with pots of different sizes and shapes. Select hand-painted pots that have a lot of color in their design. One good idea would be to fill the pots with flowers like bougainvillea and geraniums. If the patio area has trees, consider hanging decorative parrots and ferns from the branches.
